The day isn’t what it used to be by Bella Knemeyer
Breakfast at Sister Artist in Residence
Dimensions: 83cm x 110cm
Medium: Mulched paper and music sheet on cotton board
Framed in kiaat wood floater frame with block mount
The series for Breakfast began with a discarded box of sheet music belonging to a deceased school teacher. In his absence, these monotone landscapes resurface what has been left unsung, registering an echo through line-work across landscapes evocative of first light and the dawn chorus.
“I like breakfast for the benevolent way it lets you stall beginning the day.”
