Wash Day by Visule Kabunda

Breakfast at Sister Artist in Residence

Dimensions: 40cm x 50cm

Framed and mounted in walnut tray frame

This project stems from a desire to explore his childhood and construct an understanding of his personal history. Consequently, Kabunda’s personal experiences and memories find expression in a series of deeply sentimental photomontages that narrate aspects of his upbringing.

“Introducing rituals into my life is something I have become drawn to; Breakfast, the day’s first meal, is a quintessential ritual practiced across borders and planes of time. My fascination with breakfast lies in this reality, the reality that multiple people from all walks of life find stillness within the breakfast ritual.”
