In Collaboration: Sister x The Yarn Collective

At Sister, we’ve always believed that textiles carry story as much as surface. Our collaboration with The Yarn Collective grows from that shared sensibility — a curiosity for materials, a respect for craft, and an interest in colour and texture that feels alive in a space. Working together, we explore how fibres, weaving, and considered colourways bring energy, depth, and nuance to interiors in a way only textiles can. The partnership allows us to experiment with scale, pattern, and tactility, testing ideas that inform both furniture and fabric design.

The Aurora Collection is one expression of this ongoing dialogue, translating the quiet drama of dawn into woven form and subtle colour — from misty teals to saffron warmth. Aurora has gone on to take on a life of its own, receiving multiple awards and recognition, from Livingetc’s Best in Class for Decorating to Homes & Gardens Best Decorating Collaboration, and appearing in The World of Interiors’ much-loved Window Dressing feature, among many other highlights.

Yet Aurora is just one chapter; the collaboration itself — the conversation, exchange, and shared process — continues to shape the work.

The Yarn Collective’s ethos of sustainability and craftsmanship resonates deeply with us. Natural and recycled fibres, rich textures, and considered colourways form the foundation for experimentation, allowing each fabric to feel intentional, alive, and full of character. This partnership is as much about material discovery as it is about finished pieces — exploring what becomes possible when two studios approach textiles with curiosity, care, and imagination.

Through this ongoing collaboration, we’re reminded that textiles are more than decoration: they are conversation, memory, and craft made tangible. Pattern, colour, and texture meet in quiet, considered ways — and together, we continue to explore what happens when two creative worlds meet.
