This autumn, to mark our fifth anniversary, we’re thrilled to unveil something truly special — the Sister x Le Tings Carpet Bag, a limited-edition collaboration born from a shared love of craftsmanship, culture, and colour.
The partnership brings together Sophie Ashby, founder of Sister by Studio Ashby, and Harris Elliott, creative director of Le Tings. Both known for their bold creative energy and deep respect for artisan traditions, the two discovered an instant synergy — one that has now taken shape in the form of this celebratory piece.
“We wanted our first-ever tote to embody everything Sister stands for — creativity, cultural connection, and functionality with flair,” says Sophie. “Working with Harris and Le Tings felt like the perfect way to celebrate five years of Sister.”
Each Carpet Bag tells a story of collaboration across continents. The cloth is hand-loomed kente, specially woven for Sister in Tamale, Northern Ghana, before being assembled in London. The vibrant pattern is reimagined in Sister’s signature palette — a playful, painterly nod to the studio’s design DNA.
The result is a bag that feels both timeless and contemporary: heritage craft meets modern functionality.
Measuring approximately 60 x 36 cm, the Carpet Bag is designed with both style and practicality in mind. Two long shoulder straps, two short leather handles, an interior pocket, and two generous front pockets make it the perfect companion for weekends away or daily life on the go.
“There’s a natural unspoken synchronicity between Sophie and I,” Harris shares. “We both love intricate details, artisanal finishes, and particular hues. When we first met, I brought our electric blue Le Tings Carpet Bag — Sophie immediately smiled; it was her favourite colour. From that moment, our creative dialogue began.”
