The VoloTile in Salix

A Lasting Imprint, a new tile collection created in collaboration with Bert & May. Bringing together Sophie Ashby's narrative-led approach to design, handcrafted expertise, the collection explores the enduring relationship between craft, home and the stories we create.

Inspired by folklore, the collection is shaped by three wild creatures, as imagined by Sophie: Mansaa the Lion, Volo the Bird and Naom the Rabbit, representing three virtues which in part form the root of the Sister brand; courage, joy and empathy. 

Volo. Elegant but with plenty of personality, Volo features an elongated bird amongst curling leaves and botanical forms. Its hand-drawn lines and beautifully imperfect details give the design a relaxed folk-art feel, with a little sense of joy woven in. Salix is a pale teal that brings a fresh, quiet quality to Volo's intricate design.
