Some collaborations begin with a conversation. This one began with a conviction - that scent and object, when considered together, can do something more than either can do alone.

The SERRA Talisman is the first homeware collaboration between Sister and Reia, the modern self-care brand founded by Celia Foot and Sophie Salisbury. It is Reia's debut in homeware, and the realisation of a long-held vision of Sophie Ashby's: a scented vessel that works not through heat or flame but through the porosity of British ceramic.

Handmade in Stoke-on-Trent, the vessel is both container and diffuser. Its porous lid holds SERRA - a bespoke blend of Cypress, Bergamot and Vetiver, developed by Reia's in-house nose Abi Titterington-Lough - and releases it gradually, shifting the atmosphere of a room over hours and days. Trinkets and objects can be kept inside. The vessel becomes part of the room: placed, left, lived with.

The cast of characters across the ceramic surfaces is drawn from mythic and symbolic traditions, the lid evoking a sun or leaf - a nod to the warmth and canopy that inspired the scent itself. SERRA, from the Romance word for mountain range, grounds the whole object in landscape and elevation.

To mark the launch, we gathered a small group at The Blewcoat School for a slow morning: breakfast, a scent blending workshop led by Abi, and a guided meditation connecting guests to the natural oils behind SERRA. It was, in the truest sense, a morning that matched the object - unhurried, sensory, rooted.
